This digital document is a journal article from Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment, published by Elsevier in 2006. The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser.

Description :
Elevated carbon dioxide (CO”2) has been shown to have variable effects on plant respiration rates in publications. However, there is little measurement of dark respiration rate of rice plant (Oryza sativa L.) conducted in free-air CO”2 enrichment (FACE). In this study, seasonal variation in the effect of elevated CO”2 on dark respiration of aboveground rice was investigated by FACE experiments in Wuxi city, Jiangsu province of China. The results showed that increasing the present atmospheric CO”2 concentration by 200@mmolmol^-^1 did not significantly affect the specific dark respiration coefficient (R”d”w”2″5) of aboveground rice plants expressed on the basis of dry weight biomass throughout the growth season, which may be attributed to no significant effect of the elevated CO”2 on the nitrogen content in aboveground rice plants. However, the canopy dark respiration coefficient (R”d”2″5) of aboveground rice plants expressed on the basis of ground area was periodically stimulated by the elevated CO”2 by about 17% as the elevated CO”2 significantly increased aboveground rice biomass over the entire rice season. This study indicates that free-air atmospheric CO”2 enrichment did not significantly affect the specific respiration coefficient of aboveground rice plants while it significantly stimulated the canopy respiration coefficient.

The Perelandra Garden Workbook II gives us the next step in the co-creative relationship with nature that was begun with the Perelandra Garden Workbook. And what a next step! The energy processes in Workbook II open a door to a new world in which we begin to discover that the balance and health of a garden and, for that matter, of all natural forms are more involved than just finding out what fertilizer is needed. A balanced garden or farm environment must also include balanced energy and vitality. And Workbook II introduces us to the many elements of a balanced garden or farm that we can’t see–the energy elements.
For those of you who wish to incorporate a co-creative partnership with nature in a home, apartment or office environment, both Workbook and Workbook II will be of special interest. You do not need to have a garden or farm to establish a partnership with nature and work co-creatively to achieve a balanced environment.
The environmental processes introduced in the Workbook and the energy processes in the Workbook and the energy processes in Workbook II may be very different in concept, but they are equal in importance. To work with nature co-creatively through the environmental processes but ignore the energy processes would be to exclude half of the picture. We would, in fact, be tying one of our hands and one of nature’s hands behind our respective backs.

The PPM-3 from C.A.P. is the most affordable and simple CO2 controller available. Its proven technology is very accurate at measuring levels of Carbon Dioxide in your growing area from 0 to 5000 ppm Parts-Per-Million. Using the PPM-3 is quite simple. Just plug your CO2 device CO2 valve or generator into the “piggyback” cord and it will automatically maintain the CO2 level that you specify. The PPM-3 works with any make of CO2 valve or CO2 generator 120v.

Price is for 1.

Flourish Excel is a simple source of readily available organic carbon. All plants require a source of carbon. This is typically obtained from CO2, but, may also be obtained via relatively simple organic compounds (such as photosynthetic intermediates). Since both processes occur simultaneously one can derive a substantial benefit with the use of Flourish Excel either alone or in conjunction with CO2 injection. Flourish Excel also has iron reducing properties which promote the ferrous state of iron (Fe+2), which is more easily utilized by plants than ferric iron (Fe+3). Flourish Excel is an integral component of Seachems plant products and is recommended for use with the entire Flourish line as well as our Flourite and Onyx gravels. Contains no phosphate or nitrate.

DIRECTIONS : On initial use or after a major (> 40%) water change, use 1 capful (5 mL) for every 40 L (10 gallons*). Thereafter use 1capful for every 200 L (50 gallons*) daily or every other day. For smaller dosing please note that each cap thread is approximately 1 mL. Note : The 2 & 4 L containers cap is 10 mL. DO NO

The Plant Nanny is a specially-engineered ceramic stake that waters your plant easily and beneficially. Inserted into moist soil near the root base, the Nanny will release water as the soil begins to dry, so it won’t under-water or over-water your plants. A recycled standard water or soda bottle serves as the water reservoir. The water level can be seen through the bottle so that you know when it is time to refill. Great for vacation plant care. Each set of four is attractively label-wrapped for gift-giving.

This digital document is a journal article from Soil Biology and Biochemistry, published by Elsevier in . The article is delivered in HTML format and is available in your Amazon.com Media Library immediately after purchase. You can view it with any web browser.

Description :
Prolonged elevated atmospheric CO”2 might alter decomposition. In a 90-day incubation study, we determined the long-term (9 years) impact of elevated CO”2 on N mineralization of Lolium perenne and Trifolium repens plant material grown at ambient and elevated CO”2 and low- and high-^1^5N fertilizer additions. No significant differences were observed in N15-NO”3^- recovery rates between any of the treatments, except an N addition effect was observed for L. perenne (0.4 versus 0.5% N15-NO”3^- day^-^1 in high versus low N). The results suggest that elevated CO”2 did not change plant N mineralization in any of the soils, because of a surplus of available N in the fertilized and leguminous systems, and because of insignificant plant responses to elevated CO”2 in the low soil N availability systems.
